LESOTHO WATER AND SEWERAGE COMPANY (WASCO) is seeking to appoint an Electrician who will report to the Maintenance Planner. The purpose of the role is to provide efficient electrical maintenance and technical support by ensuring the reliability, safety and availability of WASCO’s electrical and electro-mechanical assets.

Key Responsibilities
- Install, repair, replace or modify electrical installations and equipment.
- Build and/or modify electrical control panels to conform to new operational requirements.
- Perform LV and MV Switchgear and Protection Systems maintenance and switching whenever necessary.
- Carry out maintenance of Pump Sets Control Equipment (VSDs, Flow & Level Transmitters).
- Ensure that Generators’ Micro-Control Equipment and their Protection and UPS Systems are operating efficiently.
- Trouble PLC and SCADA program.
- Perform corrective and planned preventive maintenance for Electro-Mechanical Equipment to minimise downtime.
- Fill in problem reports as well as work orders issued in the implementation of planned preventive maintenance.
- Liaise with production for breakdown reports and records.
- Check accuracy, rating and quality of supplied parts and tools.
- Liaise with WASCO stores for provision of electrical spares.
- Attend to emergency breakdown situations after office hours and during weekends as per Electro-Mechanical standby schedule.
- Drive WASCO allocated fleet as per WASCO Transport Policy to and from various workstations.
- Respond promptly to operational electrical faults and equipment failures to ensure continuity of operations.
- Record and report all incidents at work.
- Participate in training of operators in proper running of equipment and first-line maintenance.
- Participate in energy management projects in all WASCO establishments.
- Ensure maintenance records, work orders and reports are completed accurately and timeously.
- Carry out maintenance activities in accordance with approved safety procedures, standards and statutory requirements.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing equipment reliability, efficiency and operational performance.

Requirements
- Diploma in Electrical or Electronics Engineering
- At least three years’ experience in a production maintenance environment
- Valid Driver License with two years driving experience
