The Christian Health Association of Lesotho (CHAL) is a network of churches-owned health facilities comprising 8 hospitals, 71 health centres and 4 nursing training institutions across Lesotho. It is constitutionally mandated to facilitate participation of Christian churches in ensuring that the right to health for all is upheld to the highest quality. CHAL collaborates with the Government of Lesotho, development partners and other stakeholders to provide quality health services and strengthen the health system.
CHAL has entered into an agreement with EGPAF Lesotho to implement a new project under the Bureau of Global Health Security and Diplomacy (GHSD) through the United States Department of State aimed at strengthening health service delivery, optimising programme performance, building health facility capacity and improving health outcomes across CHAL supported facilities. The project shall use a data-driven approach to strengthen service delivery, improve programme performance and promote accountability and efficient use of resources. The GHSD funding is structured as a Fixed Amount Award(FAA) , with funding linked to the achievement of agreed project milestones, targets and deliverables.

Key Responsibilities

The GHSD Project Coordinator is responsible for the overall coordination, implementation, monitoring and reporting of the GHSD Project within CHAL.
The position provides strategic and operational leadership to ensure that project activities are implemented effectively, efficiently and in accordance with approved project plans, donor requirements, CHAL policies, Government of Lesotho requirements and applicable programme guidelines.
The Project Coordinator shall ensure that agreed project milestones are achieved, provide evidence-based support for TB/HIV, SRHMNCAH-N, NCD+MH C&T, provide technical assistance, training, and mentoring across CHAL facilities and be responsive to prime partner needs and strict reporting requirements.
He/she will monitor targets achievement and collaborate with GHSD consortium partners in optimizing CHAL program performance.
The Project Coordinator serves as the key link between CHAL management, project staff, health facilities, Government stakeholders, donors/Prime partners and other implementing partners, ensuring effective coordination and timely delivery of project results.

Requirements

Masters Degree in any of the following: Public Health, Health Services Management, Project Management, Business Administration, Social Sciences, Development Studies, Nursing or any related field.
At least 5-7 years’ experience in managing or coordinating health programmes, preferably donor-funded programmes.
Demonstrated experience in project planning, implementation, monitoring and reporting.
Experience supervising multidisciplinary teams.
Experience working with health facilities.
Experience in budget monitoring and financial management.
Experience working with donor-funded programmes and/or international development partners.
Good understanding of health systems and programme implementation in Lesotho.
Knowledge of basic project management tools is an added advantage.
